My New Creative Space

My greatest fear? That my sculptures become mere decorative objects, placed without care, stripped of their astral and sacred essence. To me, each piece has a vocation: to bear witness to an elsewhere that humankind perceives as nostalgia but cannot remember. That is why my figures live on pedestals, isolated from people, so that their dialogue with the energies of creation remains intact.

Without space, these figures do not live. They are born from the four elements: earth and water shape them, fire bakes them, air and light permeate them. Air and light now flow abundantly into my new studio, Molo51, a bright, open, and vibrant place.

Molo51 is not just my workspace—it is a meeting point between creation and sharing. On the first floor, a shelf filled with books and art magazines welcomes visitors. Here, you will find the meeting room, where events and exhibitions are planned, along with a space dedicated to photography. The ground floor, however, breathes the very essence of my work: large worktables, drawers full of sketches, trolleys packed with tools, and shelves crowded with figures at various stages of completion. There are two kilns—one large, one smaller—and monumental statues standing in the garden, watching over my work like silent sentinels.

Those who stop by may find me immersed in creation, capturing an intuition in clay, chasing perfection through form. Often, it takes three, four, perhaps five versions before I reach the definitive shape—the one that, beyond remaining earth, will also be translated into bronze.

For me, perfection lies in the delicate balance of disproportion. In the ascending tension that propels each figure toward desired, perhaps never-explored, territories. This momentum reconnects them to their origin, their destination. To cosmic harmony.

Molo51 is precisely this: the harbor of my artistic quest. A place of passage between thought and matter, between the visible and the invisible. Now, it is ready to open up and tell its story.

CURRICULUM VITAE 2025

The Italian sculptor Bruno Lucchi was born in 1951 in Levico Terme (Trento), where he still lives and works. He studied at the Art Institutes of Trento and Urbino.

Clay has always been his favored material, giving life to figures that, through the transformative power of fire, become terracotta, bronze, and porcelain. Over time, his artistic research has expanded to include new materials, particularly Corten steel, used alone or combined with semi-refractory clay, allowing him to create large-scale installations.

Alongside private commissions, Lucchi has produced numerous public works. Among the most significant are those created for several ships of a prestigious Italian fleet. A remarkable example of his exploration of monumental forms and Mediterranean cultural imagery is Dio Poseidone (2004), a grand bronze sculpture. That same year, he completed Tra memoria e visione, a striking semi-refractory installation standing 550 cm tall.

In 2011, for Italy’s largest cruise ship, he created La piscina delle Nereidi, a series of six bronze figures interacting with Eden, a mosaic spanning over ten square meters. The following year, for other cruise ships, he sculpted the Corten steel and semi-refractory piece Tenerezza (h 320 cm) and the six-bronze installation La piscina delle Perle.

His monumental bronze sculptures can also be found at the hospitals of Legnago (VR) and Cles (TN), the gymnasium in Bondo (TN), and the headquarters of Cassa Rurale in Pergine Valsugana (TN). For the National Temple of Monte Grisa in Trieste, he created the commemorative statue Monsignor Santin.

In 2022, the Spectrum Kirche spiritual center in Passau (Germany) commissioned a bronze bust of Padre Pio. Two years later, the Ronald McDonald Foundation commissioned Attesa (h 230 cm) for the pediatric ward of the S. Orsola Polyclinic in Bologna, while the municipality of Levico (TN) commissioned Origini, a six-element Corten steel installation (h 390 cm) for a new roundabout.

In 2024, he delivered Umanità, a monument for Avis in Ospitaletto (BS). In 2025, Contemplazione was installed in Levico Terme (TN).

Lucchi’s work has been extensively covered by all major Italian art publications. In December 2000, Arte Mondadori dedicated an exclusive monographic book to him. In 2003, his first comprehensive monograph, Dialogo con l’invisibile, was published. In 2005, the Parisian film crew Astiko produced a documentary, available in both French and Italian, showcasing his artistic journey, major exhibitions, and studio practice.

In 2009, he published his first book, I sapori dell’Arte (Publistampa Editore, Pergine Valsugana, Trento), a collection of exquisite recipes enriched with anecdotes about his encounters with great contemporary artists and friends.

In 2014, for his major monographic exhibition Lo spazio abitato at MUSE and in the Albere district of Trento, a new monograph was published by the Science Museum. In 2018, for the centenary exhibition of World War I at Forte delle Benne in Levico Terme, he released his third monograph, Parole scavate.

Since 1991, he has held over 300 solo exhibitions and participated in countless group shows in the most prestigious public and private venues, as well as in renowned Italian and international art galleries.
